In recent years, we’ve seen a drastic improvement in the social view of sustainability and eco-friendliness. The population is becoming more aware of how important it is to protect our Earth as much as possible for the future of our planet. Since it seems environmental issues are worsening, new global goals are being set to help secure a positive future.
So, as a manufacturer for direct to consumer products, white-label clients, and wholesale customers, we feel an immense responsibility to play our part towards global sustainable development.
After all, our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren depend upon it.

So in this article, we will be sharing our current practices to maximise environmental sustainability, as well as our sustainable development goals and visions for the future of our company.
How Simple Co Practises Sustainability
First and foremost, let’s take a brief look at sustainability examples, and how we are making changes to maximise our planet positivity…
Our Ingredients
We aim to source organic ingredients wherever possible. Why? Because organic ingredients eliminate the use of toxic or unwanted chemicals, meaning wildlife is better protected. Organic farming focuses on sustainable agriculture and high-nutrient soil, ensuring the environment is kept as natural as possible. This helps to fight climate change and increase environmental sustainability.
Our Suppliers
We work with ethical suppliers who obtain their products or materials through responsible and sustainable methods. We also aim to source from local suppliers as much as possible which helps to reduce our carbon footprint.
Not only does this increase sustainability, but it also allows us to build stronger relationships with local suppliers, guarantee higher-quality, safer products, and ensure peace-of-mind to our customers who want to practice sustainable living.
Our Carbon Footprint
A huge factor in sustainability for manufacturers is carbon footprint. We have partnered with Ecologi to plant trees with every order, offset our carbon emissions, and support renewable energy projects around the world.
As of November 2021, we have planted over 4,000 trees, offset over 210 tons of CO2, and have been a climate positive workforce for 10 months.
Our funding has directly impacted atmospheric CO2 levels, and has allowed us to support many projects such as preserving the Amazon rainforest and generating solar power in India.

Our Packaging
We only use recyclable materials to package all our products. And, where possible, we use carbon positive sugarcane-based biopolymers (as opposed to traditional PET plastics), and biodegradable pouches. We also use FSC-certified card for all of our boxes. These packaging decisions all help to support sustainable agriculture.
Our Manufacturing
One huge way to increase sustainability is simply to save time. However, many people aren’t aware of this or simply haven’t considered it. We have invested heavily in automation that essentially gets the job done as efficiently as possible. We are able to produce over 135,000 units of finished product per day, but we do not have the demand to produce this amount daily. This means our machines are running for less time, and consequently we minimise the amount of power we use.
We also aim to reduce and recycle waste as much as possible. We avoid manufacturing in excess, meaning all products are sold or given away – they don’t go to waste. And, of course, we recycle any waste wherever possible.
The Simple Co Sustainable Development Goals For the Future
Our ultimate goal is to be 100% plastic-free. However, we’re sure you already know how much time, research, and resources this would require. We are confident in our ability to achieve this goal, but we are aware that this will take some time.
We’d also like to continue our strong partnership with Ecologi, and have over 10,000 trees in our forest in a year’s time. This should mean we have offsetted over 500 tons of CO2.
Another vision for Simple Co is to explore renewable energy. Again, this would take a large initial investment, but it would have hugely beneficial impacts for the planet (and our spending!) in the long run.
